To make the Colored Deviled Eggs Recipe you will need:

Eggs

food coloring

big cooking pot

stovetop access

boiling water

Mayonesa

pickle relish

black pepper

chili pepper

a plastic baggy

The Steps to making Colored Deviled Eggs Recipe:

1. In a stovetop pot, place your eggs and fill with water.

How many eggs you use depends on how many eggs you want to end up with.

 

2. Boil eggs on medium roll for approximately 20 minutes.

Watch the boil so it does not boil out of the pot.

3. Remove eggs from the heat and drain the water.

Be careful with the very hot water.

 

4. When cool enough to handle, carefully peel the shells off the eggs. Try to leave the eggs as intact as possible. This will take a bit of time and patience.

Peeling eggs works best if the eggs are not fresh. Eggs that have been in the fridge for at least a week will be easier to peel the shells off of.

There are several ingredients that can be added to “help” the shells peel off, such as salt and baking soda, but so far, nothing has really seemed to make much difference when we get to the shell peeling stage.

5. Carefully cut the eggs in half. Place the white on a plate or dish for later.

6. Take out the hard-boiled yellows and place them in a bowl.

7. Mash up the yellows.

8. Mix in the Mayonesa, the pickle relish, and spiced of your choice. You can use sweet relish or dill relish, depending on what you like. Spice to your taste. Usually, black pepper and chili pepper are used, but you can use any spices that you like.

9. Separate the yellow mix into separate bowls. How many bowls you will need depends on how many different colors you are going to make.

10. Add a different color of food coloring to each bowl and mix well.

11. You should now have several different colored yellow mixes.

12. Place each colored yellow mix into a plastic baggy.

13. Cut a small hole in a corner of the baggy.

14. Carefully fill each egg white with one of the yellow colors.

Of course, you can add or take out, any spices, herbs, or flavorings that you like. You can make these Deviled Eggs exactly how you like them taste and colors.

You can get the kids involved with the color mixing and egg filling. Of course, adults should handle the boiling water, the draining of the boiling water, and the egg cutting. But color mixing and filling are safe enough for kids to help.
