Happy Easter

Lydia’s flower arrangement.

When thinking about spring, we always thing of the beauty of nature.  We love the bright sunrise, the new greens on the trees and the fresh flowers.  All of these things remind us of new growth and new life.

But during holiday festivities, remember the reason for that celebration. Remember the resurrection, the new life offered, and appreciate its whole meaning.  If you do not know what the meaning is, visit a local church, they will be happy to explain it to you.

When the Spanish and Portuguese missionaries came to the Americas, they used the Passion Flower as a symbolic way to teach about the story of Jesus Christ.

  • The 10 petals represent Jesus’ Faithful Apostles
  • The five “anthers” are symbolic of the five Sacred Wounds Jesus suffered
  • The circle of filaments in the center of the flower represents the Crown of Thorns.
  • The three purple stigmas represent the 3 nails holding Jesus to the cross

Easter Sunday is to celebrate the Life and Resurrection of Christ.

Happy Easter from the Out Standing in the Field Family.  Our prays go out to you, may God bless and keep you.
