With Christmas coming on fast, everyone is thinking of holiday treats. As you know from some of our past talks, we love quick, easy, fun recipes. Today, we have a Wacky Fun Jello Grape Recipe for you.

We know, it sounds terrible but believe it or not, they are good. One of the kids brought this recipe home with them, from we do not know where. Well, it was less of a recipe and more of a “can we try this?” thing. But we got the ingredients, all two, and tried it. To our surprise, they are very good.

Here is a quick recipe card you can screenshot and print to keep.

It is very simple to make Wacky Fun Jello Grapes and only requires two ingredients.

To make your Wacky Fun Jello Grapes you will need:

1 pack of jello (flavor of your choice)

1 pack of grapes (whatever kind you like)

a plastic baggy

a bowl

First, we removed the grapes from the stems. You can leave the grapes on the stems but it is a mess to pull them off after you add the jello. It also wastes a lot of jello on the stems and not on the grapes.

It is always best to wash produce, of course. So we give our grapes a good soak and wash them in the kitchen sink.

Then we put our grapes into the plastic baggy. As you may know from other talks, we do not like plastic and try not to use it. But in this case, a throw-away plastic bag is best.

You could use a reusable bag or container but jello does make a bit of a mess. For faster cleanup, a plastic baggy is better.

Example of the after used baggy.

Next, we add the jello, whatever flavor we have chosen. Make sure to use the jello in its powder form right from the box. You do not mix the jello with water for this recipe.

We then give the baggy, now with grapes and jello powder, a good shake. It is best to be sure you get the jello powder evenly spread onto the grapes. We mush the baggy around a bit to get jello powder on all the grapes as best we can.

Yes, it looked like we had severed body parts in the bag. The kids liked this. It would probably make a good Halloween treat or funky décor.

Then we put the Wacky Fun Jello Grapes in a bowl and serve.

If you had your grapes in the fridge, they should be chilled and ready to go. If not, you can put the bowl in the fridge to chill the grapes a bit.

The kids like the crispy grapes best. The chilled grapes are harder and make a slight popping in your mouth when you bit into them.

The Grapes:

You can use whatever kinds of grapes you like to make this Wacky Fun Jello Grape Recipe. But we recommend seedless grapes.

If you get seeded grapes by mistake, you will just want to cut them and remove the seeds. Unless you like eating grapes with seeds in them but who wants that?

Using seedless grapes is easier and much faster. The kind of grape, green, red, or purple is up to your preference.

The Jello:

For this Wacky Fun Jello Grape Recipe, you can use any flavor of jello you want.

You can use regular jello or sugar-free jello. We have tried this recipe with both regular and sugar-free.

Regular jello has more powder in the package so you get more coverage but it is, of course, sweeter.

The sugar-free jello has less powder in the package so there is a bit less coverage on the grapes. The sugar-free is, of course, less sweet. With the sugar-free jello, you get more of the flavor of the actual grape and just a hint of jello.

Sugar-Free Jello, has much less powder to go around and is less sweet.

Regular Sugar Jello has much more powder and is a good bit sweeter.

It is up to you if you want more jello flavor or less sweet on your grapes.

This wacky Fun Jello Grape Recipe may sound weird but they are easy to make and tasty.

This is a great recipe for last-minute, finger food needs, Birthday Parties, church eat-outs, and family get-togethers.

You do need to note, using your fingers will leave your fingers “jelloy”. As it is only jello, it will wash off but some jello coloring can stain. The kids do not mind at all. But for adults, you may want to add toothpicks or fondu forks to keep their fingers clean.

You can give each person a small bowl of their own Wacky Fun Jello Grapes or add them to a buffet-style line.

Any way you do it, these are the best and most fun grapes you will ever “not cook”. Then again, we do not really cook grapes much.

Strawberry

Peach

Watermelon

This is also a great time to let the kids get in on the fun. With no cooking, heating, or electric mixer, it is safe for the kids to get in on. For some reason, kids seem to enjoy smushing around the baggy with the grapes and jello powder.

So have some fun and make a Wacky Fun Jello Grape this week. It only takes minutes, with two ingredients. You can choose your flavor to make it how you want it. That is one of the great things about DIY and home cooking. Not only do you know what is in it, but you can make it just the way you like it.

If you are interested in other holiday recipes check out some of our similar talks. Sorry, but we do not have any other weird jello or grape recipes.
