Continuing the Summer Dessert Recipe Series, today we give you a recipe for Easy 3 Ingredient Caramel Bombs. These are, of course, edible bombs.

Caramel bombs are a nice, quick, easy recipe. The ingredients are ones that many people already keep in their homes and kitchen. If you do not have them, they are easy to pick up at just about any grocery store, supermarket, or dollar store.

The kids love these caramel bombs. As the recipe is so simple, the kids can help in the making. As always, make sure there is adult supervision when kids and hot ovens are involved.

You will need:

crescent rolls

caramel squares

cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, or chocolate powder

Crescent rolls usually come in rolls of 8. Decide how many caramel bombs you want to end up with.

Make sure you have the same number of crescent rolls as caramel squares.

It may not need to be said but we will say it anyway, unwrap the caramel squares and discard the plastic wrappers.

We put our plastic trash into a plastic recycling bottle to make eco-bricks.

Flatten out a crescent roll.

Place a caramel square in the center of the crescent roll.

Roll up like a package and roll into a ball.

The ball will be pretty large, if you want them smaller or more of them, just cut your crescent roll in half.  This will double the number of rolls you will get. Be sure to calculate for enough caramels.

Roll the ball in cinnamon sugar.

How much cinnamon sugar you will need depends on how many caramel bombs you plan to make. It is a good rule of thumb to start with 1 cup. You can do more if you run out of sugar before you finish the number of caramel bombs you have.

You can use powdered sugar if you prefer. The process is the same, roll the bombs in the sugar to cover.

Here we like Mayan Chocolate and use it often for breakfast bread and desserts. If you are not familiar with Mayan Chocolate, it is a chocolate, cinnamon, and sugar mix.

According to history, the Mayans first made chocolate with cinnamon and chili. Our Family does not use chili.  We do not know what the actual name is but that is what we were told so we call it Mayan Chocolate.

Our Mayan Chocolate powder is a mix of real cocoa, cinnamon, and sugar.   A hot chocolate mix will work also.

Just roll the bombs in the Mayan Chocolate like you did the cinnamon and sugar mix. And proceed.

Place on a flat tray with waxed paper. Keep them about 1 inch apart so they have a little room to rise.

Cook at 350 for approx 12 minutes.

The caramel bombs will rise a bit but not much.

When they are ready you should have a firm but slightly fluffy bomb.

The caramel on the inside will have melted and be very hot. Give them a minute to cool before you try to eat them. But do not wait too long or the caramel inside will be solid again. If this happens, pop them into the oven or microwave for a couple of minutes.

Now eat and enjoy. These caramel bombs go very well with a hot cup of coffee. They are a little sweet but not terribly so.

As this recipe for 3 ingredient caramel bombs is so quick and easy.  And it is great to have on hand for last-minute dessert needs. Take some to your next family party, church social, or school function. They are sure to be a hit.

We hope you have enjoyed this recipe for 3 ingredient caramel bombs. Try them out and see for yourself how easy they are and just how good. We do not think you will be disappointed.
