Today, we have another great, simple, easy-to-specialize recipe. If you are throwing that Cinco De Mayo party, or if you just love salsa this Quick, Easy, Made to Your Taste Homemade Salsa Recipe is just what you need.

If you saw last week’s talk, Easy Guacamole for Your Cinco De Mayo Party, we noted that we had too many diced tomatoes so we saved them for salsa. Well, this is the continued saga of those extra-diced tomatoes.

You will need:

Diced Tomatoes

Little Green Onions

Garlic Salt

Cilantro

Black Pepper

Chili Pepper

Other spices or herbs to your liking (optional)

This recipe pretty much goes just like the guacamole recipe from last week but without the avocados.

1. Put the diced tomatoes in a bowl.

There are recipes that call for pan-cooking the onions before you add them to the salsa. That gives it a slightly different and wonderful flavor. But this is the basic recipe. You can experiment with that if you like.

3. Add the garlic salt, cilantro, black pepper, and chili pepper.

5. Put your salsa in the fridge to chill.

We use a wonderful “gadget” that we found some time back, silicone bowl covers. They are like the old-fashioned cloth ones, we like those also, but they are made of silicon. These silicone bowl covers stretch a good bit so one cover can be made to fit several different-sized bowls. We bought a pack of four and there are very few bowls that we can not cover with one of them. As they are made of silicone, they are washable, reusable, and sustainable.
