We have a nice, simple recipe for you today, 3 ingredient cream cheese biscuits. With all the holiday running around, family visits, cooking, decorating, and shopping it is nice to have a quick simple, recipe to whip up. These 3 ingredient cream cheese biscuits are light and fluffy, rich and buttery. You can make a batch of these biscuits in under thirty minutes. These biscuits are actually good for any time of year or holiday cooking. They make great comfort food and go with pretty much any meal.

Ingredients:
8 ounces full fat cream cheese, softened
⅔ cup butter softened
1 cup self-rising flour
It is best to have some extra flour on hand if you are going to hand knead the biscuits.

To start take the butter and cream cheese of the fridge and let them get to room temp. It is easier to work them when they are warm.

This recipe can be made by hand mixing but an electric mixer is much faster and makes less mess.

Using a non-stick cooking spray or olive oil, we oil the pan. Our farm has mostly old cooking wear so we use metal, flat pans. Be sure to cover the entire pan with oil, you do not want the biscuits to stick to the pan. Most of the time we use parchment paper on the pans to keep the biscuits from sticking. An added benefit is parchment paper can be reused several times if you are nice to it, so low waste.

We start with the cream cheese in the mixer to let it soften up a bit. The electric mixer makes the cream cheese into a paste that is better to mix the other ingredients into.

We then add the butter to the mixer. Blend the butter and cream cheese until they are smooth and totally mixed.

Slowly add the flour to the butter and cream cheese mixture. We run the mixer on medium, this gives a good blending without throwing flour all over the counter.

Once the 3 ingredients are well mixed, it is time to make the biscuits form. There are two main ways to make biscuits, the cutter method or the drop method.

The cutter method:
With floured hands knead your dough until you get a smooth ball. Roll out the biscuit dough onto a well-floured cloth. counter or parchment paper. Using a rolling pin, get the biscuit dough flat and smooth. Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into as many biscuits as you can make. You should have a nice flat, uniform biscuits. This method is great when you have special guests, receptions, or bake sales.

Honestly, we do not have the time or patience for this method. Normally we just go with the drop method.

The drop method:
As it sounds, faster and simpler than the cutter method. Simple get a spoon, scoop up some biscuit dough and “drop” it onto the pan. You can use a second spoon to push the dough off the first spoon or you can use your finger. This method will give you a “free-form”, lump not the pretty, uniform biscuit that the other method yields. But again, the drop method is fast and does not require any kneading, rolling, or cutting. This is the method we normally use to make our biscuits. No one really cares what shape the biscuits are in at our house.

Put the biscuits onto the pre-floured pan or parchment paper. Put the biscuits into the oven 375 for approximately 15 minutes. Be sure to watch so the biscuits do not burn.

Different people like their biscuits cooked differently. We have some family members that like soft, light biscuits while others like blond, crisp biscuits. That is another great thing about handmade biscuits, you can make them to your liking. If you want to you can make more than one batch and make each batch different, to suit everyone.

Pull the biscuits out of the oven and let them cook just a bit. Serve your handmade, 3 ingredient biscuits with your meal.

If there is no meal, that is ok, these lovely little biscuits make a great meal all on their own. These biscuits are a good, general biscuit so they can be eaten by themselves or along with additions. You can add gravy or jelly but not at the same time. Our house likes biscuits with honey for dessert.

So there you have the simple, 3 ingredient recipe for cream cheese biscuits. As we said, they are easy to make and quick to cook. The longest part is the clean-up. Do be sure to put the mixing bowl and tools in warm water to soak a bit, that makes it easier to get the sticky dough off.

We hope you have enjoyed this quick three-ingredient recipe for cream cheese biscuits. Try them for yourself and see how good they really are. We hope this recipe will help make your holiday cooking easier.
