We have another holiday recipe for you, Festive Holiday Coffee Extreme.

Sometimes you want something special but you just can not think of what or how. Maybe you do not have the time to think about it or to make it or maybe you are just too tired to go there.

Well, here is a really simple special coffee recipe. It is really a no-brainer when you look at it. The kid made this the other day when we were working on a different project and we thought it would be a nice quickie recipe for you.

Do not go to one of those expensive coffee shoes to get a special seasonal coffee. Like the one that shall remain unnamed, that does not support our military, veterans, or police. You can easily make your own special seasonal coffee for a fraction of the cost of one of those places. And if you buy from local suppliers you can support your local economy not one of those big corporate chain stores.

To make your Festive Holiday Coffee Extreme

You will need:

coffee mug

coffee

creamer

whipped topping or cool whip

food coloring

baking sprinkles

Steps to make your Festive Holiday Coffee Extreme:

1. Pour creamer into your chosen mug (powder if you like but we use liquid)

2. Add two drops of food coloring to the creamer

3. Add coffee

4. Add whipped topping or cool whip

5. Drop several drops of food coloring onto the whipped topping or cool whip

6. Add a good handful of baking sprinkles to top it all off

Now drink and enjoy. Yes, this recipe is very sweet and colorful, and fun. But the kids loved it. You would not want to have a coffee this sweet all the time but after all, this is a special, once-in-a-while coffee.

Of course, you can substitute low-fat creamer or decaf coffee, soy milk, or those such things if you are health conscious or have allergies. But where is the fun in having a special once-in-a-while coffee that is healthy?

Do note, that there will likely be some color transfer from the coffee to the kids. That is common, normal, and part of the fun.

We used green food coloring and Halloween sprinkles for our Festive Holiday Coffee Extreme. But you could do yellow or orange for fall, and red for Christmas.

There are all kinds, shapes, colors, and themes of baking sprinkles. Fall-colored leaves to Halloween eyes, you can get sprinkles to fit any occasion or theme you want.

You can use baking sugar crystals in place of sprinkles if you like. Sugar crystals come in many colors these days.

If you have a birthday in the fall or winter, use the colors of the birthday theme to coordinate with the birthday decorations.
