You can, of course, tweak this recipe, like most DIY crafts, to your own personal liking.
The water beads come in several different colors and can be found at most stores and flower shops. Either keep the original color of the beads or add food coloring to make your own color theme.
For this project, we used green food coloring as we were going for a Halloween look. Our water beads started out a light blue but with the added green food coloring, they came out a deep green.
But you can use any color you want to get the theme you are going for.
The same is true for essential oils. We used spearmint essential oil in our air freshener. But you can pick your favorite to make your own personal air freshener. Or choose seasonal essential oils for a holiday theme. You can even special design an air freshener to be given as a personal gift.
With a cute or decorative container, you can add some flair to your air fresheners. A bit of ribbon, a charm, or a flower and you have a totally different look for your DIY Water Bead and Essential Oil Air Fresheners.
As with most DIY projects, only your imagination limits the look, theme, or style of your craft. Experiment and try out several different colors and essential oil combos. You never know what you will like until you try some different ways.
