Today we have a DIY Lavender Soothing Balm Recipe. This is another recipe that we needed so we researched several recipes online and in our herbal books. Then we decided to make our own recipe so with a few tweaks we have a balm recipe that suits our needs. This is another quick, easy recipe with only a few common ingredients.
The finished Lavender Soothing Balm is great for headaches, muscle tension, and anxiety.

If you wanted to make a cute, sparkly, or seasonal-themed DIY Lavender Soothing Balm Recipe you could add a bit of Today Glitter to the mix.
Today Glitter is a non-plastic, Eco-friendly, pet and kid-safe glitter made of Eucalyptus cellulose.
It may not be needed to make the balm but it is really cute and the kids do love glitter.
The first step to making your DIY Lavender Soothing Balm Recipe is to have or make the Lavender infused oil. We did a talk a while back on How to Make Plantain Infused Oil. The plant may be different but the process is the same.
We already had some Lavender-infused oil ready. It is best to try to keep some infused oils on hand so you have them immediately if you need them.
As you know from other talks, we have an herb garden so we keep a supply of fresh herbs on hand, including Lavender. We also keep infusing oils going all the time of several different herbs. It is best, we find, to keep a steady flow of the herbs and oils we use regularly.
To make the DIY Lavender Soothing Balm Recipe:
1. In a stovetop pan heat the Lavender Infused oil.
Do not allow it to boil, you just want to warm it enough for the other oils and beeswax to mix well.
2. Add the Coconut Oil. Stir until melted and mixed.
3. Add the beeswax to the warm mix.
Be sure to mix until well blended.
Remove from the heat and let cool for a few minutes.
4. Add the Lavender Essential Oil.
When we are mixing warm oils we like to use glass stirring sticks. They are easy to clean and do not absorb any of the oils that you are working with.
5. Mix in the Peppermint Essential Oil.
6. Stir gently but vigorously.
7. Carefully pour the warm mix into the prepared containers.
8. Let cool completely to set.
9. Cover and label.
To use DIY Lavender Soothing Balm:
Apply a small amount directly to the temples, wrists, and neck.
Enjoy the cooling Peppermint and calming, soothing Lavender.
And there you have it and done your very own DIY Lavender Soothing Balm.
This DIY Lavender Soothing Balm makes a great homemade gift for that stressed new mom, overworked student, or anyone who needs a little breath of relief from the daily grind.
If you want to make a personal spa-type gift bundle, add a bottle of Lavender Dreams -Halloween Smoking Glittery Bath Dust to this Lavender balm. Lavender Dreams is a DIY bath dust recipe that we made several years ago and we still love it.
