Today we have the 5-Layer Chocolate Heaven Delight Recipe. It is a fairly simple recipe but it does have several sections that need to be done at the correct time.
To make the 5-Layer Chocolate Heaven Delight Recipe you will need:
a large baking dish
1 cup of flour
½ cup of butter
1 cup of chopped pecans and ½ cup of pecans
a bit of salt (optional)
1 package of cream cheese
1 cup of powdered sugar
3 buckets of cool whip
2 packages of instant chocolate pudding
3 cups of milk
cacao powder
1 bag of chocolate chips or chocolate chunks
Layer 1
a large baking dish
1 cup of flour
½ cup of butter
1 cup of chopped pecans
1. Mix the crumbled pecans, butter, and flour together to get a semi-dry crumble.
If you have to grind the pecans yourself use a chopper not the blender. Using the blender will give you pecan butter and that does not work the same in the recipe, we know, we did that once. The taste was still great but the texture was a bit off.
2. Flatten the mix into the bottom of the baking dish.
3. Bake at 350 for about 25 to 30 minutes.
The crust will seem a bit wet when it comes out of the oven but as it cools it will dry and harden a bit. Do not burn the crust, this will give your 5 Layer Chocolate Heaven Delight Recipe a somewhat more burnt than Cajun flavor.
4. Let the crust totally cool before adding the layers.
Layer 2
1 package of cream cheese
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 bucket of cool whip
1. Mix Cream Cheese, butter, and one bucket of cool whip together and beat until smooth.
We use an electric mixer for this but it can be done by hand.
2. Spread mix onto the top of the now cool crust.
Layer 3
1 bucket of cool whip
cacao powder
3. Spread another bucket of cool whip over the top of the second layer.
4. Sprinkle cacao powder onto the cool whip layer.
You can add Cinnamon to the cacao powder for a more exotic flavor.
Layer 4
2 packages of instant chocolate pudding
3 cups of milk
1. Mix the 2 packages of instant chocolate pudding with the 3 cups of milk and blend until smooth.
2. Pour the pudding mix over layer three. Smooth it out with a spatula but do not mix the layers.
If while adding and spreading layers the mix becomes too warm and wants to mix, put the dish into the fridge for about 15 minutes before continuing with the next layers. This will firm up the layers and help keep them from oozing together.
Layer 5
Cool Whip
Chopped Nuts
Chocolate Chips
1. Spread the third bucket of cool whip over the fourth layer. Be sure not to mix the layers.
2. Sprinkle the chocolate chips across the fourth layer of cool whip.
3. Spread the other 1/2 cup of chopped pecans around the top layer.
4. Put the 5-Layer Chocolate Heaven Delight in the fridge to chill.
5. Serve with coffee to cut the sweet.
If you prefer, you can use dark chocolate chips, toffee chips, or some other kind of candy chips.
As this most homemade deserts, you can tweak this recipe to get exactly what you want. Add more or less chocolate. Use Cinnamon in layer 3 instead of or with the cacao powder. Substitute the chocolate chips for other candy. Add a package of chocolate pudding to the Cool Whip in layer 3 for a chocolate muse-type layer. The possibilities are many, use your imagination and experiment.
It should be noted that this is not a healthy, low card, low sugar, or low anything else recipe. It is a very rich, sweet, chocolaty dessert with all the sugar and calories. Keep that in mind when you decide how big a piece to cut for yourself.
Diabetics probably should not eat this, or people who are allergic to chocolate, Cinnamon, or milk products.
Another note, if you use sugar-free, instant, chocolate pudding this recipe can be considered low-carb as the only thing in it that is not on a low-carb diet is the powdered sugar.
