Today we are sharing our Coquito-Puerto Rican Eggnog Holiday Drink Recipe. This is a quick and easy recipe that will only require a blender and the ingredients. You can whip up this fun, holiday drink in minutes. If you are a fan of tropical life, and we are, you will love this.
Now yes, we are farmers and yes we have chickens so we have eggs. Eggs in themselves are wonderful, healthy, and generally well thought of.
But eggnog is a totally different thing. Some of us do like, even love eggnog but others of us get chills, weak stomachs, and even gags at the very word “eggnog”. What was someone thinking? Or how desperate did someone have to be to think up eggnog? Yes, let us take a perfectly good egg and add some spices and herbs, ok that is not so bad. But then let us add alcohol to pickle or ferment our egg mix. Now let us see how it tastes. What? Why?
Okay, now that rank is over, we move on to our Coquito Puerto Rican Eggnog Holiday Drink Recipe. Coquito is an alternative to Traditional Eggnog. Of course, our recipe is non-alcoholic and kid-friendly.
As it sounds Coquito was originally made in Puerto Rico with coconut milk. Now that we can see, add stuff to coconut milk and drink it, great.
This Coquito Puerto Rican Eggnog Holiday Drink Recipe makes a thick, smooth, creamy drink very similar in consistency to the original eggnog. But as we said, no egg.
If you are a coconut fan, this is a drink recipe for you. Or even if you are open-minded enough to try an eggnog alternative, here it is.
To make Coquito Puerto Rican Eggnog Holiday Drink Recipe, you will need:
1 can of Coconut Milk
1 can Cream of Coconut
1 can of Evaporated Milk
1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
½ Teaspoon Ginger
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
½ Teaspoon Nutmeg
A Splash of Vanilla
A blender
Our recipe, of course, is non-alcoholic, and kid-friendly. The original recipe called for Rum and Brandy but we do not use Rum, which would not be kid-friendly at all. If you were to use the Alcohol, you would need to alter the liquid amounts to fit in the amount of alcohol you were using.
The process for making Coquito Puerto Rican Eggnog Holiday Drink is very simple.
1. Add the Coconut milk, Cream of Coconut, Evaporated Milk, and Sweetened Condensed Milk to the blender.

4. Blend until smooth and well-mixed.
No one wants a chunk of Nutmeg in their drink, that would ruin the experience.
5. Add the Vanilla and again blend to mix.

6. Blend to make it a thick, smooth, eggnog-like consistency.
Blending gets the milk frothed up and foamy like the foam on a Cappuccino. If you do not blend enough it will be fine just a bit thin.

Coquito can be served hot or cold as you like.
Things can be added or subtracted as you want to get the exact taste you like best. Sometimes we make a basic Coquito and split it up into individual cups. That way everyone can add the accent flavor that they want to their own cup. As we have said many times, one of the great things about homemade and DIY is that you can make it exactly the way you want it.
As the holidays start coming around, Thanksgiving or Christmas, we start thinking of all of those wonderful holiday treats that we love so much. Even though they all add a couple of pounds each to us, we still look forward to the holiday treats. So you may want to add this Coquito Puerto Rican Eggnog Holiday Drink Recipe to your list of holiday treats.
